Started in 2001, the .NAME generic top-level domain name extension is the sole TLD intended for personal websites only. These domains can be personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other labels people are known by. At the beginning, just third-level registrations were allowed, so if you wanted to register john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already purchased 3rd-level domain names remained active.

Through our company, you can order your dot NAME domain for a time interval between 1 and 10 years. You will be able to update the WHOIS information, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an active domain to our firm if you acquire its EPP transfer authorization code from the present registration service provider and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been finalized. There are no special stipulations on who can obtain a dot NAME domain, but in order to preserve the goal behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry organization may check who the Registrant is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration might be challenged.
